This post is for mothers who have not yet been pregnant, just got pregnant, and those in their first three months of pregnancy about how to take care of your pregnant belly.
Having been pregnant four times, I’m certain this post will provide moms with a proper perspective on preventing stretch marks.
50% of mothers think they only need to start preventing when stretch marks appear (it’s too late when water reaches your legs, let it go).
30% of mothers believe that prevention should start after the first three months of pregnancy when the baby starts to grow, the belly starts to enlarge, and weight begins to increase (this is also a misconception).
12% of mothers believe in applying coconut oil from the beginning of pregnancy but only when they remember; if they forget, they skip it and think applying sometimes is enough (discard this misconception too).
The remaining 8% understand about oils and they use them throughout the process, even when not pregnant.
In 2015, when I was first pregnant, I fell into the first 50% category, and the result was stretch marks on my chest and part of my belly. After childbirth, my belly was as black as an apple.
In 2018, I learned about natural trends and oil-based skin care for winter hydration, and I fell into the 8% who used oil (here it is crude mechanically pressed oil, at that time, I only had money to use coconut oil). When I learned about the method of using oil on damp skin and practiced it, it was indeed more effective than using it at night before going to bed.
The principle is because 70% of our body is water. The key to beautiful skin and good health is to retain water in the body and on skin cells. The simple yet highly effective formula is due to our understanding of the skin’s principles to take care of it. Similar to understanding the mechanism of milk secretion, you will always have enough milk for your baby during the breastfeeding period without having to use any other type of milk as a substitute.
So why cold-pressed oil instead of refined oil or some cosmetic herbal toxins? Human skin acts as the second largest detox organ in the excretory system. In pregnant women at this time, it detoxifies twice as much as normal to help the cleanest body, getting nutrients to nourish the baby. With oil-based skin care, pregnant mothers will know how to support the skin in detoxification, balance natural excretion on the skin by a daily and natural method. Cold-pressed oil is rated as the best makeup remover ingredient from 6000 years ago until now that no other product can replace. Full-body massage with oil helps cleanse the skin and detoxify the skin quickly because 80% of the body is skin. So I’m sure everyone will want to have less damaged skin when it stretches significantly during pregnancy.
I’ve maintained this method for the past 5 years as below:
Step 1: Always keep a bottle of cold-pressed oil in the bathroom where you can see it daily. It’s best to use a push nozzle for convenience.
Step 2: After bathing, do not dry your skin. Instead, apply an adequate amount of oil all over your body, focusing more on areas like the belly, chest, and thighs. Massage for 1-2 minutes, then towel dry and dress. Remember to use shower sandals to prevent slipping if oil spills on the floor.
Note: Initially, you may feel uncomfortable due to the moist layer of oil on your skin. But with more usage and a grateful heart, things will change, and gradually you will like this method.
